On May 15th, Cursed Lands made the USA Today Bestseller list. This is something I couldn’t have accomplished without a lot of help.
It’s a good example of how authors can work together to succeed together. When we lift each other up, we’re all better for it. This is part of my core philosophy as an author, and as a human being. It’s why I became a NaNoWriMo Municipal Liaison, and it’s why I put together Swords, Sorcery, & Self-Rescuing Damsels.
The most important component of any publishing success, though, is you, the reader. It doesn’t matter how much a group of authors support each other if no one buys the books.
Thank you, to all of you who buy and read books.
Some cool other things you can do to support your favorite authors:
- Request a book you like at your local library.
- Write a review and post it on your book platform of choice (Amazon, iBooks, Goodreads, whatever).
- Tell someone else who you might think would like a particular book.
- If you post something positive about a book on social media, tag the author.
Without you to read and talk about them, no one will produce stories.
I’m off to word mines again to write more books so you can have a super secret special surprise this summer, and hopefully another next spring.
It’s true. Readers bring success, but it’s also true that talent draws readers. Thank you for writing winning novels.
Congrats. That’s awesome
